John Carlin is the senior partner of the UK practice Carillon Millor, a specialist consulting firm that identifies and achieves absolute savings through the recovery of duty and the mitigation of risk across the customs compliance spectrum and in thinking differently about how customs should work for clients.

John has a wide ranging technical, practical & operational knowledge of customs & trade. He specialises in customs & trade in chemicals, pharma (ex-chemist), the food & drink sector, industrial processing, automotive and apparel.

He regularly counsels multinational companies on their thinking, their global e-commerce strategies, their global customs and international trade audits, and more recently, how to derive the best results from “Brexit”, the UCC, FTA management, valuation, classification, reliefs, excise, export control legislation, corporate establishment, intra EU VAT and AEO systems design implementation and management.

Carillon Millor’s approach is holistic and differentiating; using bespoke tools & proprietary methods to identify and maximize the Customs Supply Chain™ throughout an international trading business. An equal focus on the validity of education and customized training helps support this.
